Lineman Rodeo (10/14/06)

Municipal Electric Utilities of Wisconsin (MEUW)
On Saturday, October 14, 2006, the Municipal Electric Utilities of Wisconsin (MEUW) hosted the 1st Annual MEUW Lineman’s Rodeo in Menasha, WI at Jefferson Park along the beautiful shores of Lake Winnebago. Municipal electric utility rodeo teams competed in various structured events such as Pole Top Rescue, Transformer Change Out, Elbow Assemblies, Insulator Change Out and a written Safety and Knowledge Challenge. In addition to the lineman’s competition there were activities for the entire family and an awards picnic at the conclusion of the rodeo.

The Kaukauna Utilities team of Corey Huntley, Brian Willms and Neil Jack was the event’s Grand Champion Line Crew for 2006. The second and third place teams were from Menasha and Oconomowoc respectively. Eight three-person teams from Shawano, Kaukauna, Menasha, Sturgeon Bay, Hartford, Oconomowoc and Cedarburg competed in four phases of electrical lineman work.
