Hazardous waste is considered any waste in your home, yard, or garage that can cause substantial harm to human health or the environment when improperly managed. At Kaukauna Utilities, we strive to be stewards of the environment. To encourage KU customers to focus on environmental responsibility, and to assist in the proper disposal of these materials, we are hosting a hazardous waste collection event for KU residential customers. This event is on August 15th from 8AM until 11AM and is limited to the first 60 customers (must sign up for a time slot in advance). Click here to reserve your spot. For more information on what is considered hazardous waste and alternatives to hazardous waste, please see the Household Hazardous Waste Management Guide (wi.gov).
Once you have registered for the event, further instructions will be provided to you via email.
- Each customer is limited to three medium-sized boxes of materials. All material containers need to remain onsite.
- When gathering your hazardous materials, DO NOT MIX any materials.
If you are unable to attend this event on the scheduled date, Outagamie County Recycling & Solid Waste hosts several hazardous materials collection events each year from May through October. For more information, or to schedule an appointment at one of these events, visit Outagamie County Recycling & Solid Waste Household Hazardous Materials Collection Program Information (recyclemoreoutagamie.org).
Please note that latex paint is not considered hazardous waste. Outagamie County Recycling & Solid Waste currently accepts latex paint for a small fee at the Resource Recovery Park located at 1419 Holland Road, Appleton, WI 54911.
