Several of our customers have received calls soliciting payments, claiming to be WE Energies. The caller asks for banking or credit card information to prevent disconnection. We received the number from one of our customers (877-203-0181) and called to verify the source. A prompts asks you to make a payment, followed by an agent who states they are taking payments on behalf of WE Energies. THIS IS NOT A LEGITIMATE PHONE CALL. KU will never ask a customer to pay their bill over the phone immediately. Never give out your banking or personal information over the phone. Customers can always call KU Customer Service at 920-462-0234 to verify their account status.
