Kaukauna Utilities is proud to announce that we’ve been awarded the Recycling Excellence Award by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources! This recognition highlights our commitment to environmental sustainability and waste minimization.
In 2023, we implemented a comprehensive waste management plan to ensure proper disposal of materials like scrap metal, used oil, batteries, light bulbs, tires, and more. This plan also highlighted our recycling efforts with unique materials such as utility poles, concrete, and used transformers.
Our efforts extend to the community as well! Since 2015, we’ve hosted an annual electronics recycling event, collecting over 200 tons of electronics to date. In 2024, we took it a step further by hosting our first hazardous materials collection event for residents.
