+ Electric – Central Air Conditioning Tune-Up
Keep your central air conditioner running efficiently and extend its lifespan with a tune-up! Without regular maintenance, your unit can lose up to 5% of its efficiency each year, leading to higher electric bills and reduced comfort. A $25 rebate is available to customers with central air conditioners no larger than five (5) tons and those who have not received a tune-up within the past three years. Contact a professional service technician to perform a 12-point inspection to ensure your system cools effectively and dehumidifies properly. Be comfortable and save money!
*Must be a KU electric customer to qualify.
+ Electric – Programmable/Smart Thermostat
Smart thermostats make it easy to set a schedule that keeps you comfortable when you’re home and saves energy and money when you’re away. They can learn and adjust automatically to your preferences, and you can adjust settings from anywhere with a user-friendly app. Preheat or cool down your home just before you arrive, apply vacation settings, and even receive personalized energy usage feedback.
Benefits:
- Easy to program

Smart thermostats also provide basic demand response capabilities that allow remote connection with utilities for adjusting thermostat settings during peak demand periods.
We encourage the purchase of programmable smart thermostats through Focus on Energy. Their online marketplace offers instant discounts with free shipping on most popular thermostats.
Eligibility:
- Purchase a WIFI smart thermostat through Focus on Energy and KU will offer an additional $25 rebate in addition to the instant discount from Focus.

Kaukauna Utilities offers a rebate of 50% of the charger cost, including installation, up to $400. Wi-Fi enabled chargers allow you to monitor and control charging remotely and can help you take advantage of special energy-saving programs.

Heat pump water heaters are 2-3 times more energy-efficient than standard models, using electricity to transfer heat rather than generating it. Ideal for basements with at least 700 square feet, they work best in areas with excess heat, like furnace rooms. For more details, consult with your contractor about your options.

+ Water – Water Saving Appliances
Water is one of our most precious resources. Because it flows so easily from our appliances, we sometimes don’t appreciate its value. Even though water is the most abundant resource on earth and is essential for life, the quantities of fresh water are limited. Water tables are decreasing, and it’s becoming more difficult and costly to find and deliver fresh water.
We need to save water every way we can and conservation is the key in providing fresh water for the future. KU’s conservation plan assists you in conserving this valuable asset. We provide a rebate to encourage the installation of water saving appliances. Rebates for each measure shall not exceed 50% of the purchase price:
- Kitchen Sink Faucet – $75
- Bathroom/Laundry Sink Faucet – $50
- Showerheads – $50
- Toilets – $100
- Dishwasher – $200
- Clothes Washer – $275
- Water Softener (limited time offer) – $300
- Whole Home Bonus (must pre-qualify equipment to receive bonus) – $1,750
*Must be a KU water customer to qualify.
